Specialized Volunteer Management Training Series
Volunteer Toronto has launched specialized volunteer management training to address the unique challenges facing volunteer managers across Ontario. This opportunity is made possible through funding provided by the Province of Ontario. As a result of this funding opportunity, Volunteer Toronto developed the workshops to help volunteer managers increase capacity and better engage volunteers across five non-profit areas:
• Festivals and Fairs
• Hospital Programs and Associations
• Long-Term Care Homes and Hospice Programs
• Mentoring Programs
• Sports Leagues and Associations
The specialized training is designed to equip volunteer managers with the information, skills and resources they need to continue making a difference through the effective long-term engagement of volunteers. Training will be offered at 25 in-person workshops in partnership with regional Volunteer Centres across Ontario, as well as online via Ontario Volunteer Centre Network’s Learning Space.
Volunteer managers and coordinators who register for an online workshop will have the option to select an urban centre or rural community focus within their area. Volunteer managers and coordinators can visit vmtraining.volunteertoronto.ca to learn more about the specialized training, access online courses, or find an in-person session near them. Areas of focus were determined through an in-depth needs assessment, in consultation with provincial associations and communities.
